In Memoriam
It is with greatest sadness that we inform you of the passing of Bob Colwell on December 28, 2021. Bob Colwell was part of the Network Operations team of Comcast in Portsmouth, NH and an SCTE New England member.

Bob had been with Comcast for 34 years. He began as a Field Technician and had been in Network Operations for the past 26 years.
Bob leaves his wife Alice, his daughter Isabelle (8) and son Peter (6). They were an extremely close family, often hiking together, going to air shows, boating or going on vacations.
Bob enjoyed solving difficult cable issues and was always there when his team had questions. He put these skills to the test, serving as a member of Greater Boston’s CommTech Jeopardy team for many years. He was extremely proud of being part of the 2018 “Wicked Clickahs” national championship team.
As an active member of the New England Chapter of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, Bob won many regional and national cable game events over the years, attaining Hall of Fame status in the New England Chapter.

Astronomy was one of Bob’s passions. His teammate Ansel Huston recalled a time when they responded to a pole event overnight. As they completed the job, Bob pointed to a star in the sky and told Ansel it must be approximately 3:25 a.m. Ansel laughed, but when he got into his truck, he found that Bob was only two minutes off! Bob was also a storm chaser, always in search of the perfect photo.
